Wrexham Science Festival
Whether you are looking for insights into the latest in
scientific thinking and innovation, to debate your theories and
opinions with the experts, to inspire a budding young scientist or
for family entertainment to kick-start the summer holidays with a
bang, the Wrexham Science Festival is sure to have something to
suit. Now in its 14th year, the Festival promises nine days packed
full of FREE workshops, demonstrations, shows, lectures and much
more.
This year the festival is running throughout the first week of
the school summer holidays, so there will be plenty to keep the
kids occupied and get the summer holidays off to a bang, as well as
events of a more grown-up variety.
Highlights include:
- Wildlife presenter Kate Humble in conversation with Adam Walton
from BBC Radio Wales' Science Café
- Activities for all the family, from shows exploring the science
behind Doctor Who and superhumans, to Stone Age archaeology and
LEGO® Robotics workshops
- Events of a more grown-up variety, including an interactive
workshop exploring the Chemistry of Cocktails, and the return of
our popular Science Pub Quiz
- Science with a comedy twist - Helen Keen returns with her
latest show Robot Woman of the future, and we welcome stand-up
mathematician Matt Parker with his unique take on Freaky
Probability
- Talks and lectures exploring the world of science, from animal
welfare and Captain Scott's Antarctic expedition, to Thomas Telford
and the future of the internet
Perfect for getting everyone excited about science!
