Explore fascinating towns such as Mold
with its street market and food & drink festival, Holywell the

There are many sites of historical
interest such as Grade 1 listed building St Deiniol's library in
Hawarden. Britain's finest residential library, it was founded by
minister William Gladstone in 1889. Visit Basingwerk Cistercian
Abbey alongside Greenfield Valley Heritage Park, a fascinating mix
of mills and reservoirs charting the industrial past.
Mold
Mold offers the visitor tradition and culture mixed with a lively
atmosphere. From historic churches and prehistoric treasures to
modern shops ranging from small boutiques to high street names,

Flint
This is where it all began. In 1277 medieval Europe's most
ambitious building project started here in Flint. Flint Castle was
built by Edward I, painted by Turner and described by Shakespeare.
Fish out your camera and immortalise it some more.
Flint is also slap bang on National Cycle Route 5. Which means you
can ride east to Chester along the banks of the River Dee - or
start pedalling west along the coast.
Holywell
Never mind one of the Seven Wonder of Wales. St Winefride's Well,
which gives Holywell its name, its quite simply unique in the
world. This reputedly healing spring has been a place of unbroken
pilgrimage for 1,300 years. It was long-famous by the time King
Henry V walked here from Shrewsbury to give thanks for his victory
at Agincourt.
Talacre
The beach here is deservedly popular. Miles of golden sand are
lapped by the clean waters of the Irish Sea. Talacre Beach is a
great place to walk whatever the weather. Look out for the keeper
at the lighthouse. A stainless steel replica of the ghost who
haunts the spot.

Hawarden
The Gladstone Library at Hawarden was founded by four-times Prime
Minister William Ewart Gladstone. With 32,000 of his own books. Now
it's the National Memorial to his life and work. And best of all,
it looks like Hogwarts
