Attracting over 100,000 visitors every year,
Loggerheads Country Park invites you to delve into the historical
past and explore a variety of trails. These formative years have
created some awe-inspiring limestone cliffs. Now, you have a unique
opportunity to gain some altitude and witness the stunning views
that overlook an area abundant in wild, natural beauty.
Whilst admiring the landscape from this height, you can pick and
choose from a number of different activities. Whether you prefer a
relaxing, gentle stroll along the mold trails; an
adrenaline-absorbing abseil down the Devil's Gorge; or sitting with
a picnic and enjoying the fresh air, a memorable day awaits.
The history and breath-taking countryside walks in this area
have always dominated people's interest. This isn't surprising,
when you consider the 350 million-year-old limestone cliffs that
hark back to a time when Wales lay near the equator, surrounded by
a tropical sea teeming with life.
Journeys to the tranquil River Alyn and the panoramic viewing
area, Clwydian Range, can lead you to new sites every time. At
Loggerheads, each visit seems completely new and exciting.
Moel Famau, crowned by the iconic Jubilee Tower, is the highest
point in the Clywydian Range, and is classed as an 'Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty.' The walks to the summit reward you
with magnificent views. The Jubilee Tower has reached its
200th birthday recently, so come down to Loggerheads and
join in the celebrations!
Often referred to as 'Wales' best kept secret,' it's common
knowledge to all our visitors that Loggerheads is child-friendly.
Our area is one out of ten locations across the country that takes
part in geocaching.
Ten caches have been hidden across Wales, containing goodies for
kids to take away and a log book to sign your autograph! Discover
this cache on the right day, and you might even find the great
golden ticket! Ticket-winners are given big prizes. Loggerheads is
the perfect place for family trail hunting, so bring the kids along
with you when you visit our park.
Once you've thoroughly worn yourself out with all the fantastic
events at Loggerheads Country Park, stop by Caffi Florence for
delicious, seasonal food and fair-trade hot chocolate.
In 2012, Caffi Florence was awarded the accolade of 'True Taste
of Wales Award Winner.' Not only is the grub magnificent, but Caffi
Florence is exceptionally eco-friendly. Surrounded by the untamed
beauty of Loggerheads, it seems natural that the staff at Caffi
Florence would want to preserve the spectacular environment for
generations to come.
If you're looking to enhance your knowledge, Caffi Florence
offers a range of enriching workshops and events. From culinary
lessons with their team of in-house chefs, to growing herbs for
health and beauty, you'll leave Loggerheads Country Park absolutely
glowing with knowledge!
Mondays are dedicated to local, music talent and these sessions
are completely free of charge! Caffi Florence recommends you
reserve a table and enjoy some relaxing acoustic songs with your
lunch or afternoon tea.
