Ruthin Castle
Ruthin Castle is a truly enchanting hotel full of history, romance and impressive architectural features. Standing within acres of parkland and gardens is the magnificent ancient fort with parts dating back to 1277, which was frequently owned by the monarchy from Edward I to Charles I, and hosted members of the Royal Family including Edward VII and HRH Prince Charles. The bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and many are refurbished to an exceptional standard. There is a choice of lounge areas with ornate carved fireplaces and ribbed ceilings, a library bar with open log fire, and dining at Bertie's with its wonderful chandeliers, excellent service and the AA's 2 Rosette dining award. The leisure suite includes health and beauty treatment rooms, snooker table and gym. Mediaeval Ruthin is within easy walking distance and the castel is within reach of the North Wales Coast, Snowdonia, Llangollen and just 30 minutes from Chester.
