Geocaching is one of the fastest growing activities in the
world. At the present time, there are said to be geocaches placed
in more than 100 countries throughout the world, on all seven
continents, including Antarctica. Having started nearly twelve
years ago, it is estimated that there are over 1,639,000 active
geocaches advertised on numerous global websites.
What is Geocaching?
Essentially, the sporting activity of geocaching involves using
a GPS mobile device or receiver to 'hide and seek' special
containers known as geocaches or simply caches.
Geocaches themselves vary greatly with regard to location, size
and difficulty. The simplest are generally referred to as
'drive-bys', 'park 'n grabs (PNGs), or perhaps 'cache and dash'.
However, many geocaches can be extremely complex, often involving a
lot of travelling and long searches.
Geocaching in the North Wales Borderlands
While there are numerous places in Britain to pursue this
activity, one of the best is the North Wales Borderlands region.
The region shares a border with Cheshire and Shropshire, making it
a convenient place to get to. It is less than one hour's drive from
both Manchester and Liverpool, while Birmingham is less than 90
minutes away.
This half-term we have hidden 10 geocaches within the North
Wales Borderlands area for you to find, we want you to embrace the

special prize' each day at various cache locations.
