Halloween in North Wales Borderlands

There are some ghoulish goings on afoot in the Borderlands area this weekend and we wouldn't want our lovely readers to miss out so we've put some of the best ones together in this handy post.

Top of the spookiness list is the Halloween Spooky Special at Ruthin Gaol, where guests can enjoy a day of spooky story telling and Halloween crafts in a seriously spooky setting! Make sure you don your scariest Halloween outfit too as there's a prize giving at 2pm for the best one.

If ghost hunting is more your thing then The Great Big Haunted Castle Ghost Hunt at Bodelwyddan Castle will be right up your street. Mini ghost hunts throughout the day, as well as plenty of other ghostly games and fun. Then at night for the really brave there are host walks and overnight investigations- spooky!

If you want to join in the fun, but have little ones (or are just a big scaredy cat!) then there's a pumpkin hunt at Erddig where you can search for pumpkins while enjoying the gorgeous scenery. And for the four legged family members there's the Woofs & Wellies Charity Walk at Alyn Waters Country Park in Wrexham from 10.30am on Sunday.

For activities with a bit of spookiness but something for all the family then head over to Chirk Castle. They have a haunted woodland trail on all week until Sunday where you can follow the trail through the haunted woods and chase spooks in the Castle rooms. They also have lots of extra 'haunted happenings' on Sunday including ghost story telling and a live ghost hunt!

So whatever you're Halloween style, there's something going on in the area that is sure to please! If there's anything we've missed then let us know and we'll share the good ones with our readers.

Happy Halloween!
